…to ever become Christian bestsellers by Tim Challis!
He writes…If you were to scan the lists of the best selling Christian books of all time you’d see some truly amazing books there. Sadly though, you’d also see some truly flat-out awful books. Today I’ve narrowed down that list to the five most ridiculous books to ever become Christian bestsellers.
Exercise Discernment: Just Because it is sold in a Christian book store does not mean it is a good, reliable and consistent with scripture.
“Before picking up a book, ask yourself: Would Christ approve of this book? Will it increase my love for the Word of God, help me to conquer sin, offer abiding wisdom, and prepare me for the life to come? Or could I better spend time reading another book?”Joel Beeke, Feed My Sheep pg. 120
Now my opinion!
Not every so called Christian book is worth owning, let alone reading. Always use discernment when choosing books. If you don’t know about a particular book, ask your church leadership! Most important, do your own research, look for reviewers like Challis.
Read many books though,
but live in the Bible,
the living word of God!
…that’s a beautiful thing!
