Look, there are 1,189 chapters in the Bible; 4 of them don’t involve a sin-cursed world – the first 2 and the last 2, before sin and after sin, before the fall and the new heavens and the new earth. Everything in-between is just the history of sowing and harvesting sin and corruption. I want you to understand how common this is declared in Scripture, so just listen for a moment and think about your own experience in reading through, say, the Old Testament to start with.
1 Thessalonians 1:10 is probably the best place to finish. It says, “Jesus rescues us from the wrath to come.” What is the job of the church? Get sucked up in every worldly enterprise to try to negate an inescapable law of sowing and reaping? Foolish. Foolish. There’s a harvest of corruption, and it’s going to get worse, and wrath is going to come; and our responsibility is to tell people that only Jesus can save them from the wrath to come.~ John MacArthur
It’s incredible how the Lord will restore the earth.
It’s paradise regained, paradise regained.
