You Must Be Born Again

Now there was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews; 2 this man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, “Rabbi, we know that You have come from God as a teacher; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.” 3 Jesus answered and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” John 3:1-3

Jesus said “you must be born from above!”

… and that’s a beautiful thing!

  • Nicodemus saying we, is he speaking for other Pharisees, as they realize God is with Jesus.
Is he asking to see how he or they can have God with him!
Jesus, is He saying to Nicodemus, you must be born again to have God with you?
Being “born again”, perhaps was not what a Nicodemus was expecting and then he questions how?

    Sorry, just thoughts.

  • Hey Wendy,

Thank you, Just like Sunday school class! 🙂

I think when he says “we know” he referring to others like him. I also think that coming at night was a sure bet he didn’t want the others to know. Remember we are also talking about Jesus who knew his thoughts. Yes Nicodemus wasn’t expecting to hear what Jesus said. He said You must be born again! (from above)

The new birth is the act of God by which he grants eternal life to those who are spiritually dead Ephesians 2:1-4. We will learn how soon!

  • Good teaching my friend!!

    • Thanks Tony! I just want to use my gifts to edify the saints and anyone else who reads or watches. I hope you and your family are well. Stay safe, love God and praise Jesus!
