Public Prayer

It happened that while Jesus was praying in a certain place, after He had finished, one of His disciples said to Him, “Lord, teach us to pray just as John also taught his disciples.” Luke 11:1

I love reading Jesus’ prayers in the gospels. There are so many!

When I say public prayer, I’m not referring to the hypocrites who stand on street corners to be notice and earn praise for themselves. I’m not talking about the private closet prayers we do in secret where only God hears.

I’m talking about public prayer in meetings, study groups, corporate prayer and in prayer groups that are God honoring and glorifying.

Those are the prayers I learn from and so can you!

…and that’s a beautiful thing!

  • It’s obvious that Jesus had to teach the disciple how to pray, starting in Luke 11:2.

For me, seeing and hearing Jesus pray would have been enough! Maybe I’ll do a brief screencast on the rest of the text in Luke 11:1-4 soon.
