For God So Loved The World

When taking John 3:16 in context with the entire chapter of John 3 and with Jesus’ words in verses 14 and 15 you will have a greater love for His great love for those who are His!

Paul says in Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

…and that’s a beautiful thing!

  • Just a note Lenny on the wording “believe” in this verse. I think too many people (especially in this country) think of this word “believe” as like a mathematical equation of the mind. ie. I believe 2 + 2 = 4 and Jesus died for the sins of ALL MEN, and my mind can accept that concept, so, I must be ok with God! When in fact to “believe” is to have a personal relationship with Jesus. What are your thoughts?

    • Thanks Tony, I think you are right! If God puts His Spirit in a dead lost soul, thats going to be seen in a believers relationship with his Savior. Meaning you can’t just profess Christ and believe in God and go on with your life as it was. No, you are born again, you become alive! 2 Corinthians 5:17 Galatians 2:20. Of course this is a gradual progressive sanctification. You not only profess Christ but you possess Him too.

  • Just to add to what you both are saying, it’s the Word of God that transforms men. God, through the Holy Spirit, draws men unto Himself, and it is when their eyes and hearts are spiritually opened to receiving and believing in the person and work of Jesus Christ and repenting of their sins that they are saved! Genuine repentance…believing and receiving Christ as Lord and Saviour…and becoming a child of God! To quote you, Lenny, “it’s a beautiful thing!” Thank you for giving us God’s Word!
